Being Deliberate

Being deliberate with your time.It sure seems like so much slows down this time of year for Christmas. I do so hope you had some time off. As for me, last week we were pretty much closed but we’re back at it now.

Yes, I’m already thinking of my goals for 2015. Besides the usual, I’m realizing that I need to be very deliberate with the time I invest. It’s not just about setting some specific goal and wishing for it to come true. This year I’m doing something different. I am actually setting appointments in my calendar to work on what I want to accomplish in the next few months and year.

I know one thing is for certain. Not hing happens in my business without some sort of interaction or transaction with another human being. This is why I always make time for networking be it in-person or online.

To that end, once again, I have committed to producing the Luncheons for all of us so that we can grow our businesses. Contrary to what many people think, the Networker for Business Women Luncheons aren’t what I do for a living. I don’t make money from the Luncheons. Truth be told, I lose money from each event. But indirectly it helps me to meet some incredible people many of whom have become long-term clients. So are the events “profitable” for me? Yes, but not because I’m making money from the attendees. Instead, the Luncheons allow me to make connections that may lead to my next favorite client.

I want the Luncheons to be profitable for you too and it all starts with your attendance. This year, be deliberate with your time investment too. if you haven’t attended regularly, make it a priority to attend regularly. The magic happens when you see people over and over again – that’s where friendships, partnerships, joint ventures and introductions start.

We meet the first Friday of each month in Indian River County and the second Friday of each month in St. Lucie County. The Luncheons last 1 1/2 hours. We always start on time and we never run over time. Go ahead and mark this event on your calendar for all of 2015 now.

If you don’t have 1 1/2 hours a month to market your business or yourself you need to make the time or rethink things. Seriously. I mean, just think about that for a minute.

The first event of 2015 is in St. Lucie County on January 9th. The firstFriday in January is January 2nd and while we normally meet the firstFriday of each month in Indian River County, so many of us will be away on break. So the first event is January 9th in Port St. Lucie.

No matter where you are in or around the Treasure Coast, the January 9thvenue is going to be very easy to get to with great food!
